6.30 on the second berth in the honey mooners bus. I am alone. I am out of network coverage of my cell phone. But the snake is still on.!!!

I missed my train and blamed the Indian Railways for it.
The best part is (I have to say something to camouflage my stupidity, purely a diversioanry tactic.)
I am in this sleeper coach bus supposedly for the honey mooners, the bumps and ditches on the road have their advantages sometimes.

The Mumbai trip:
Lemme finish the obvious stuff about what i want hope would happen:
I dont want to not experience this trip.
I want to stop at every moment and experience it.
I am taking a cam with me so that I can capture visually the experience called Mumbai.
Am I hyping it too much?
Does missing my train constitute a bad omen? May be.
But it taught to check every goddam thing. Dont be surprised I ask questions like Whats my name? Whats a blog?

Everynight, when I go back from office at around 10:00 or 11:00
There are these 3 blind beggars standing at the same spot everyday... I give them a very curious sum of money.
I give them any amount of money I have as lomg as I have less than 30 and if i have more than thirty I give them 30.
This sum has gone up from 10 to 30 in the recent months.
Do I give them that money so that they are happy using it or is it coz I would be happy seeing them happy.
In the end, even if I becoem a big philanthropist, its all for me.

Parties, committees, commissions, frenzy, herd, congregation, mob, gang, professions, community, crowd, assembly, mass.faction, troop, band...
Humans are obsessed with forming groups. The affiation motive is so high in human beings that they form temporary groups of all kinds and intensities.
Like I tend to form groups for a myriad of reasons:
1. I always form a group with the people on the same side of traffic line, if somebody from the "other" side crosses the line then I espouse this group against the other.
2. I form a group of non-vegetarians against the vegetarians at a party
3. I even form a group against the people who use Google against the poeple who use altavista.
4. I form a group who are MBAs and a stronger group with the HCU buggers.
5. We have always been forming groups based on the place we come from and the language we speak.
6. I even form a group with the people who blog and try to convince the other group to blog as well
Thats examples enuf but what am i trying to say quoting all these examples? I donno.
I form a group with all the Indians, I form a stronger bond with all the telugus, i form an even stronger group with Hyderabadis, stronger group with HCU guys. I form a group against the whole establishment when the guys at my college or my apartment are threatened.
I was never so happy when tendulkar scored runs than when Laxman scored lots of runs
We form a part of hundreds of groups at the sametime. There is always a conflict that keeps going on. Am I more responsible to the office group or to the group called family?
Unfinished blog: reason cant think why I thought abt what I just blogged.

Human nature, a a phrase being phased out...

Its sounding more like an oxymoron these days.

Question: How important is politics to you? How much do I respect politics? How important do you think politics is for the people?

Politics is one of those words, which is scorned, very few words in the english dictionary have such a rep.

Where am I goin with this?
how do u define a country? Why do I say that I am an Indian?
Dico says: n. Land, terrain, region, area...
2. Nation state kingdom, realm.
3. Nation, population, inhabitants, citizens.

In the end what defines a country is its political boundary.

Worldywise says: Country is defined as a collection of people with a similar history, ideas, culture (thats one of the vaguest word!), and above all a sense of belonging to the land, its people.

Government usually tries to drum up the feelings of "Patriotism and Nationalism" so that it can sustain its budget for defence, which being inherently the most opaque( for security reasons!!) has great scope for bungling.

Wars/threats of war are tools used to drum up patriotic feelings, Indians hardly felt the feeling of "Indianness" till the wars with Pakistan. I donno how much the entertainment industry are a party to the whole patriotism thing
coz after the politicians and the Armament makers, these are the guys who make most money making movies and shows, trying to get the hair on my neck rise in a surge of Desh-bhakthi and end up do a "bloody " good job of it!

Coming back to the question what is a country/ nation?
Tell me a villager living on the border of India and Pakistan, his history and culture belong to that region and not to india or pakistan.
Poltically he is an indian(we still havent defined what that is) but he is patriotic neither abt India or pakistan?

I will never fight a war and die for my country. (The best cliche award goes to...: To me people are more important), fighting for a cause is logical but killling for a peice of land, is more like ...... treason

I did this funny test on Emode
and my celeb match was Cameron Diaz? Whos complaining?
There's just something about Cameron Diaz, isn't there? You sure think so, which is why this Charlie's Angel is your celebrity dream girl. The easy-going California native is prettier than any girl next door and still twice as nice. Her unpretentious, up-for-anything attitude has appealed to you ever since she chewed up the scenery with Jim Carrey in The Mask. She may be a former international supermodel, but you can just tell she'd be up for a beer and a burger — and she might even watch the game with you, too. What more could a guy want? Since you've always been a sucker for the spontaneous, easy-going "guy's girl," Cameron's fresh-faced looks, winning smile, and non-stop legs will make you feel like you've finally found "the one."

In my past life I was a:
Leopard
Not much is certain in life — past or present — but we know this much about you: In your last life you were a sultry leopard named Lola. You were a showgirl, with yellow feathers in your hair and a dress cut down to there. You would meringue and do the cha-cha. And one night at the Copacabana (the hottest spot north of Havana), you fell in love with Tony, the handsome bartender. Tony fought Rico (he wore a diamond) for you and won. The two of you grew old and happy together, joyfully dancing your lives away at the club to the soulful tunes of Barry Manilow.

I am sure I put in my sex right in my profile??? And who the hell is Barry Manilow?

Why do we have government?
Processes and actions that people undertake are like vehicles at an intersection.
Human nature always says I wanto go first, irrespective of when I reached the intersection and how important is it for me to cross over.
To regulate people, there is a cop. So why do we need this cop? If all Humans were to act "rationally", there wouldnt be any need for any surveillance.
So we need a government to regulate the actvities of We, the Humans.
And what is the primary, all encompassing task (lets not say task) duty of a Government? To provide a what ever the people need?
True? Lemme take a Poll. Theres nobody around so: 1/1 100% of the target population said yes. 0/1 said no.

And who is the majority of the population? the poor people or lemme use more "politically correct" (as though there is some thing actually called correct politically!!) the financially constrained, the weaker sections of the society, the Kisans, the dalits etc..

I am really shocked some times, when there are people Government bout taking off subsidies, demolishing houses, retrenching thousands of people. I ask myself this fundemantal question? What is more important: People or Fiscal policy?
Fiscal policy is what stabilises the country against wide spread gadbad in the future? Tell that to a guy who just lost his job.

When I was a kid and a part of me still believes that theres nobody whos actually "bad" as a person, I never even bothered to understand whether its true or not? I just wanted to belive it so badly. Even now, I just think that people just commit mistakes and thats the end of it.I dont think there are really evil people who live to cheat and hurt people. Sounds very kiddish, very few people actually believ that I am a grup!

Humans evolved in organisms with completely different drivers. Logic hardly drives them, ( lemme not say them, coz i would then be called an Alien and I hate MIB) us.
Just look at us, what is the reason for us to live? Logic only tells u why 2+2 is four and everything has to be a 1 or 0. Logic taps into science and tells u that there is always some principle of physics or chemistry or Kalology which drives the result of an action.
What drives humans to study, work, kill, love, surf, cry, bungee jump? Science and logic can tell u at what speed I will fall, when I jump out of a airplane, when do i need to open my parachute so that I can land safely, how do position myself when I land.
But Can logic ever explain WHY THE BLOODY HELL DID I JUMP?

What drives Humans is completely out of the realm of Logic. That is the specific reason why u can never have a computer taking decisions for you. It can only support. In the end the bloody thing has to ask: OK OR CANCEL!!
It will be a goddam borin place if it suddenly dawned on people that they need to be logical.

Jadis, we used to argue about why people needed to marry? After all the big statements, inkling said, All those arguement are fine. But what about all the celebrations and anniversaries which form an essential part of a wedding?
